THESE RULES ARE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY! Participants that disregard the park’s
rules and regulations or pose a safety threat to themselves or others will at a minimum, be
ejected from the park without a refund and may be suspended from future visits to Rock Run.
When you arrive at the park you will need:
- Proof of valid Registration for any drive in vehicle.
- A current, valid driver’s license is required to operate any vehicle anywhere within the park.
- 16 and older -- Photo ID. Anyone without Photo ID must provide proof of age.
- All OHV's must enter the park in groups of at least 2 vehicles. The only time you are permitted to travel alone is
during an active recovery. Anyone observed alone will be stopped and questioned.
Before you ride requirements:
- All riders and passengers must complete and sign the insurance waiver.
- All riders/passengers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the
insurance waiver.
- An approved working fire extinguisher of at least 2.5 pound size must be carried in every vehicle.
If you dont not have one, ask the Welcome Center, they can sell you one.
- All vehicles must be equipped with a working muffler or spark arresting exhaust device.
- 4 wheel drive with low range capability is required.
- Tow points, properly mounted on the front and rear of the vehicle, are required. A class III hitch will
suffice as a rear tow point.
- Tires must have sufficient tread and be of the correct tread style for the trails you have chosen to run.
- Snowplow frames are prohibited on the trails. Running boards are permitted, but discouraged
- All vehicles must be equipped with a solid battery hold down device, bungee straps or ratchet straps are not permissible.
- Vehicles should be in a good state of repair, and properly equipped for the trails you have chosen to run.
There should be no visible fluid leaks, and no obviously worn components that could compromise the safety or
mobility of your vehicle. Breakage on the trail may happen, you should be properly prepared to deal with equipment failures.
- Body damage or equipment failure can occur on any trail anywhere within the park. Rock Run Recreation Area can in no way
be held responsible for any breakage or damage that may occur.
- The staff at Rock Run is not required, nor should be expected to recover, repair, or escort non-emergencies out of the park.
Please have a way to get yourself out of the park if broken down. Rock Run staff, if able, will do their best to give assistance.
- No firearms or weapons are allowed at Rock Run Recreation Area.
- No littering, pack it in, pack it out!
While you ride:
- The speed limit in the park is 15 MPH, speeding, skidding, and intentional tire spinning
in the loading/unloading area will result in immediate ejection from the park.
Please refrain from driving muddy vehicles into the paved parking area of the welcome center.
- All vehicles entering Rock Run to use the OHV trails must be equipped with approved seatbelts
for the driver and all passengers, seatbelts must be worn any time the vehicle is in motion.
Any child required to be in a child seat under PA law must be in a child seat at the park.
- A full size spare tire of the correct size must be available for use, it does not have to
be in the vehicle, but must be at the park. A temporary spare or "donut" spare cannot be used.
A properly sized jack capable of lifting the vehicle safely for a tire change is required.
- No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs may be carried onto or consumed on Rock Run property.
No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs that may hinder thinking ability or reaction
time will be permitted access to the property. Coolers may be inspected at any time to enforce this rule.
- Do not, under any circumstances, drive off of the existing trails. No bypasses are to be created.
If you are observed driving off trail, blazing a bypass, cutting trees or bushes, or disobeying a
prohibited area sign you will be ejected from the park, no refund will be given, and you will be barred
from future use of the park. No exceptions.
- When using a tree as a winch anchor point, a tree safety (tree saver) strap must be used.
Intentional damage to the trees at Rock Run will not be tolerated.
- Do not drive on any trail or road that is not marked for OHV use. The ATV and motorcycle trails
are not designed for OHV use, and anyone observed ignoring this rule will be immediately ejected
from the park, no refund will be given, and they will be barred from future use of the park. No exceptions.
If you are unsure of the type of trail you are looking at, do not enter it, proceed to the welcome center, and ASK!
- When camping at the onsite facilities, you are required to stay off the trails after closing.
NO NIGHT RUNS! You are permitted to use the road between the campground and the welcome center after closing
The park closes at 7:00 PM sharp, please make sure you leave ample time to return to the welcome center, sign out,
load up and be out the gate by then. If you are camping, make sure you check in at the welcome center and return
to your campsite before then. If this is not possible due to equipment failure, you MUST inform the staff and make
arrangements as soon as possible. If the staff has to go into the park and search for you before they can close,
you may be ejected from the park without a refund and asked not to return.
The decisions of park management and staff are final; you can be ejected from the park or denied entry at any time.
If you, your vehicle, your behavior or anyone in your group are deemed unfit to participate at Rock Run, you may be asked to leave.
