The Rock Run Recreation Area is a multi-use, motorized ATV recreation area, located in Northern Cambria and Southern Clearfield Counties, in the Alleghenies of Pennsylvania.

What are the directions from Prince Gallitzin's Crooked Run Campground?
Make a left out of the campground and proceed .5 mile. Make a right onto Long Road. Proceed 4 miles; make a left onto St. Lawrence Road. Proceed 1.9 miles; the entrance to Rock Run in on your right side.

The opening is slated for April 2007.

What will be completed by April 2007?
The entrance road and visitor center parking area are complete as of October 2006. By April 2007, the visitor center plus 50 miles of new ATV/dirtbike trails will be complete.

Will it be open year round?
The park is proposed to be open for as much of the year deemed possible, for the exception of bear and deer rifle season. Weather will dictate operations during winter/spring months

How much does a riding permit cost?
2009 riding fees are as follows:
- Single Day Pass: Rider - $18.00 Passenger - $10.00
- 2-Day (Consecutive Days): Rider - $30.00 Passenger - $20.00
- 3-Day (Consecutive Days): Rider - $45.00 Passenger - $25.00
- Wednesdays & Thursdays: Rider & Passenger - $10.00 each
- Groups of 6 or more $2.00 off each admission
- Individual Year Pass: $120.00
- Family Year Pass: $275.00
Family passes include a family of four (includes grandparents and grandkids). Additional children cost $50.00 each.
Dirtbikes, out of state vehicles, and side-by-sides not able to register with DCNR will be charged an additional $10.00 fee per year.

Will my ATV have to be registered?
All state rules and regulations regarding all terrain vehicles and snowmobiles will be enforced on the Rock Run Recreation Area. Back to Top »
What are the proposed hours of operation?
Hours of operation will be dictated by season, weather, and other constraints.

How many miles of trail will there be?
50 miles of trail will be completed by April 2007. Build out of the park is to include over 150 miles of dedicated trails.

Is the property open for public hunting?
Yes. The 2004-05 hunting season was the first time in over 25 years the 6,000 acre parcel was opened to public hunting. For your safety, the park is not accessible to vehicular traffic and is restricted to foot travel only during the hunting season.

Will there be camping?
Yes. A primitive (no electric hook-ups & no water), on Friday & Saturday nights from May 30, 2008, until Saturday, September 6, 2008. Each camp site (one tent or camper) is allowed up to 6 people at $10.00/night, additional people available at a cost of $2.00/person/night.

Is it true that Rock Run will become a windmill farm?
No. Windmills will be only be permitted if they can be incorporated without interfering with the recreation development.

Have any windmills been constructed to date?
No. Three meteorological towers have been erected on the site to monitor wind speed and other features on the property.
