What is the Rock Run Recreation Area?

Does Rock Run rent ATV's, What are the available rates?

Yes, we currently have ATV's that are available for rent. Rental fees for a half day (4 hours) is $105.00 and for a full day (8 hours) $165.00. This price includes your $20.00 riding pass and one tank of gas. If you do not have a helmet to use while renting our ATV, you can rent one at a cost of $10.00. There is also a additional $15.00 (and $3.00 service fee) mandatory insurance policy that must be purchased. A Visa or MasterCard must be used to rent any ATV. A $25.00 deposit(by credit card) per ATV is required when reserving a rental. 24 hour notice must be given if canceling a rental. If you do not show up and do not call to cancel, a $50.00 non-cancellation fee will be charge to your credit card. You must be at least 18 years of age to rent any ATV, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Does Rock Run have an age requirement for riders?

Parents or Guardians must sign a Minor's Waiver at the Welcome Center before riding.

How much does Rock Run charge for a season pass? Are there any discounted group rates?

Currently, an Individual season pass at Rock Run is $125.00 and a day pass for can be purchased either from our web site or at the Welcome Center. If you have 10 or more people that wish to purchase a season pass there is a 25% discount.

How much does a riding permit cost?

      2010 Riding Fees are as follows:

  • Single Day Pass:  Driver - $20.00     Passenger - $12.00
  • 2-Day (Consecutive Days):  Driver - $34.00     Passenger - $24.00
  • 3-Day (Consecutive Days):  Driver - $50.00     Passenger - $30.00
  • 3-Day Family (Consecutive Days)- $125.00    Each additional child  $10.00
  • Wednesdays & Thursdays:  Driver & Passenger - $12.00 each
  • Groups of 6 or more $2.00 off each admission
  • Individual Year Pass: $125.00
  • Family Year Pass: $280.00

Family passes include 2 adults and 2 children under the age 18. (includes grandparents and grandchildren). Add additional children at a cost of $50.00 each.

Dirtbikes, out of state vehicles, and side-by-sides not able to register with DCNR will be charged an additional $10.00 registration fee per year.

Does my ATV need to have registration to ride at Rock Run's Facility?

No. Rock Run will charge a $10.00 yearly registration fee that will act as your ATV or Motorcycle registration for the park. Rock Run will honor other state's ATV registrations that recognize Pennsylvania's registration program for ATVs. There will be a updated list of accepted states at the Welcome Center. Back to Top »


What do I do in case of an emergency or accident while out on the trails?

If you need immediate emergency assistance please call 911! Take note of your surroundings, there are signs and trail markers on every trail. Remember to give as much detail about your location to the dispatcher as possible, this will assist Emergency Responders and Rock Run Staff to find your location quickly. If it is a non emergency, call the Welcome Center at (814)-674-6026, and our staff will locate and assist you in any way we can..

Do I need a riding pass for each ATV,UTV, and Motorcycle I want to ride at Rock Run?

No, unlike most ATV and Motorcycle parks our riding passes are based on you, the rider, and not the number of machines you wish to ride at our park.

Does Rock Run have riding supplies, Helmet, Goggles,etc?

Yes. We stock helmets, goggles, gloves, gas cans, tire patch kits and many other items available at the Welcome Center.

What are the hours of operation?

Rock Run will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 7PM during the months of April and May. Starting in June and running thru September, we will be open Wednesday thru Sunday, 9AM to 7PM. In October, we will be back to weekends only, Saturday and Sunday, 9AM to Dusk. There are some special occasions when we will be open later than dusk, check out the calendar of events for more details.

Is the property open for public hunting?

Yes. For your safety, the park is not accessible to vehicular traffic and is restricted to foot travel only during the hunting season. We can encounter some very unpredictable weather conditions during the winter months.

Is there camping at Rock Run?

Yes. Primitive camping is available (no electric hook-ups & no water), on Saturday nights in April and May. In June thru September, camping is available Wednesday night thru Saturday night. Each camp site (one tent or camper) is allowed up to 6 people at $10.00/night, additional people available at a cost of $2.00/person/night. If you did not pay for the next day of riding, check out for camping is before 10:00 am. A camping pass must be displayed on the dash of the vehicle at all times and then turned into the Welcome Center upon check out.

Are there trails for OHVs? What are the pass rates?

Yes. There are different degree levels to accomodate vehicles from stock to heavily modified. A day pass is $25.00 a driver and $10.00 for a passenger.Children under 12 $5.00.
